Before you create. Local mono/stereo transcoding supports up to 5 minutes and 20 MB input when the browser can decode it; OGG Vorbis is preserved. Replacement packs use existing discs. Custom Java variants require both resource and data packs, use existing item IDs and need command permission. English (US) replacement labels are supported. Game playback is untested. Pack exports target the stated format; they have not been tested inside Minecraft. Keep a backup and test in a separate world.

How to use Music Disc Maker

Choose replacement mode or custom Java song variants.
Add MP3, WAV or OGG audio, edit labels and preview it.
Download a replacement pack or install both ZIPs from the custom song bundle.

What you will get

Convert MP3, WAV or OGG into music packs for Java / Bedrock, or add custom Java song variants with a data pack. Output: Java ZIP or Bedrock MCPACK. Java resource packs target 1.21–1.21.1, format 34. Bedrock resource packs use manifest v2; custom block add-ons target 1.21.80. PBR exports declare separate Vibrant Visuals 1.21.120+ / RTX 1.21+ targets. See the export settings and compatibility note for this tool.

Create custom music discs for Minecraft Java or Bedrock

Add MP3, WAV or OGG audio and preview it locally. Supported mono/stereo input up to 5 minutes can convert to OGG Vorbis. Export existing-disc replacement packs for Java / Bedrock, or select custom Java song variants to download a data-pack and resource-pack bundle.

Bedrock music disc packs replace native record paths and English descriptions. Java custom variants keep vanilla tracks and define new jukebox songs, using existing item IDs. Install both ZIPs from the bundle, reopen the world and use the included commands with permission. This does not register modded item IDs; game playback is untested.

Can I make custom music discs in Minecraft Bedrock?

Yes. Choose Bedrock as the target edition, select an existing disc and add OGG Vorbis audio. The MCPACK includes the native Bedrock record paths and an English disc description; pigstep uses pigstep_master. Java remains available with Java audio and language paths. This replaces tracks and does not add new disc items.

Custom Minecraft music discs and music mods

Replace existing Java or Bedrock music-disc tracks, or create custom Java song variants using both a data pack and a resource pack. MP3, WAV and OGG Opus can convert locally to Vorbis when the browser supports decoding; conversion is limited to mono/stereo and 5 minutes. The custom Java bundle includes song duration and commands, without replacing vanilla tracks. It uses existing item IDs, not a music mod. The spelling music disk refers to the same task.

How do I rename a music disc with this pack?

Enter a custom disc name and optional track description next to the selected track before export. MCToolLab writes those labels to the resource pack’s English (US) language file. This changes the pack’s displayed labels for the replaced item; it is not an anvil action and does not rename an individual item in your inventory. Other game languages retain their existing labels.

Making a music disc versus making a replacement resource pack

Replacement mode changes an existing disc track. Custom Java mode defines additional jukebox songs and gives variants of existing disc items with custom song components. Extract the bundle and install the resource ZIP and world data ZIP, then reopen the world and use the included command with permission. No recipe, loot change or new modded item ID is added. Bedrock output currently replaces tracks only.

How do I get the Creator disc in Minecraft?

Obtaining a disc in the game and replacing its audio are different tasks. The official Java 1.21 notes place Creator in Ominous Vault loot, while Creator (Music Box) is found in decorated pots in Trial Chambers. This maker does not grant either item or change loot. It packages replacement audio for an existing selected disc, and still needs game-client playback testing.

Try an original example

Original short generated OGG Vorbis test tone. Listen at a comfortable volume; it is an audio-validation sample, not a full song.

The Java example replaces cat with the short test tone. English (US) text is PackLab sample tone / Original validation audio.

These examples are original files, not Minecraft screenshots. Download a sample, then import it with this page’s upload control. Example packs have not been tested in game.

Install and play your replaced disc

Replacement mode exports Java / Bedrock resource packs for existing tracks. Add MP3, WAV or OGG; supported mono/stereo input up to 5 minutes converts locally to Vorbis. Native Vorbis is preserved. Custom Java mode downloads an outer bundle: extract it, enable the resource ZIP on every client, install the data ZIP in the world datapacks folder, reopen the world and use /function packlab:give_discs with command permission. Do not install the outer bundle as a pack. Replacement playback may stop at vanilla duration; custom variants declare their measured duration. English replacement labels use the selected edition language file.

Java resource pack ZIP

  1. Use Java 1.21–1.21.1 for this format-34 export. Keep the downloaded ZIP intact.
  2. In Minecraft, open Options → Resource Packs → Open Pack Folder. Copy the ZIP into that folder.
  3. Return to Resource Packs, move the pack into the selected list, then choose Done. Give it priority over other packs changing the same texture or sound.

If Minecraft reports an incompatible version, check the target before enabling the pack. Renaming the ZIP does not convert its version. Test your result in a separate world.

Bedrock resource pack MCPACK

  1. Save the MCPACK and use your device’s Open with / Share action to open it with Minecraft Bedrock.
  2. Wait for the import result. In a test world’s settings, open Resource Packs → My Packs and activate the imported pack.
  3. Open the world and inspect the replaced texture. Check pack priority if another active pack changes the same item.

These files contain resources, not behavior packs. Import and menu options vary by device; direct console file import is not claimed. This site has not completed Minecraft or real-phone validation.

Common problems & next steps

My MP3 or WAV is rejected

Local conversion needs browser decoding support, mono/stereo, no more than 5 minutes and 20 MB input. For longer or unsupported audio, use OGG Vorbis. A renamed file is not a converted file. Failed imports retain the previous track; Cancel processing lets you retry.

The track is silent or still vanilla

Check the selected disc ID, pack priority and the game’s music / jukebox audio settings. Confirm that the uploaded audio plays in the browser preview.

The audio changed but the name did not

The generated language file targets English (US). Select that game language, or adapt the resource pack’s language files yourself.
