A little about the lab

Useful tools. Clear boundaries.

MCToolLab (formerly PackLab) is an independent collection of 16 Minecraft creation and utility tools. Editing happens in your browser, with no account or file upload required. The resource pack converter and merger have separate pages within the same pack-tools module.

Images and previews

Cape, skin and pixel editors export real PNG images. The 3D skin preview shows Steve or Alex with base and outer layers. The editor can protect either layer while painting or clearing; preview visibility never removes pixels from the exported PNG. Avatars export a 2D face, 3D head, upper-body or full-body portrait with camera and outer-layer controls. Music and crosshair packs support Java and Bedrock; Bedrock crosshairs require an imported original icon atlas. A cape design PNG does not unlock an official account cape.

Pack targets and validation

Java resource packs target Java 1.21–1.21.1 (pack format 34). Standard Bedrock resource packs use manifest v2 with minimum engine 1.21.0; experimental head and cube-model add-ons target 1.21.80. Bedrock skin packs use the skin-pack manifest format. These are export targets, not a claim of completed game-client testing. All generated packs need in-game validation on your exact version and device.

Armor Stand Skins is experimental: configured name tags select individual Steve or Alex skin models and static display poses; unmatched names keep the vanilla stand. Skin models include base and outer layers. Equipment display on custom models is not supported. Name matching still requires testing inside your target Bedrock client. The converter handles documented static textures, native record paths and strip animations, with a skipped-content report. Its separate experimental Java cuboid conversion creates a Bedrock 1.21.80 block add-on. Player Head Generator can also create an experimental Bedrock skin-head block; both add-on types need behavior and resource packs.

Local files and supported inputs

Most existing image tools accept PNG or JPEG, at most 10 MB and 4096 × 4096 pixels. The separate pixel art generator accepts still PNG, JPEG or WebP up to 10 MB and 32 megapixels, downsamples locally, and exports manual blueprints with Java 1.21.1 block IDs. Skin inputs must be standard 64 × 64 PNGs. Music Disc Maker accepts MP3, WAV or OGG up to 20 MB. Supported mono/stereo audio up to 5 minutes can transcode locally to Vorbis. OGG Vorbis is retained. Java custom song variants require a resource pack and world data pack. ZIP inputs are limited to 25 MB compressed, 120 MB expanded, 5,000 entries and 32 MB per entry. Encrypted and ZIP64 archives are not supported.

How the tools, guidance and examples were made

MCToolLab was developed with AI assistance under the site owner’s direction. The sample artwork and audio are original project files created under the former PackLab name; the downloadable example packs were generated with these tools. File and pixel checks do not establish that an output works inside Minecraft. Game-specific guidance links to its sources, and compatibility notes identify what still needs client testing.

Read the original sample details and permissions. Example images are design files, not gameplay screenshots.

Built for the web

Use a modern browser with Canvas, File, Blob and Clipboard support. Download and Minecraft import behavior depends on your device. When clipboard access is unavailable, the tool offers selectable text. Your browser may need permission for multiple downloads.

Find a Minecraft tool for your project

MCToolLab has free browser tools for creating Minecraft skins, cape PNGs, avatars and replacement textures. Choose Skin Editor for a character texture, Skin Pack Maker for a Bedrock collection, or a dedicated painting, totem, crosshair or music tool for a resource pack. The pack converter handles supported texture paths; the merger combines same-edition packs. No Minecraft account is needed to edit or download.

Looking for MC Tools, SkinMC, PMC Skins 3D or Ezcapes?

You are on MCToolLab, an independent website. MC Tools / mc-tools.net, SkinMC, PMC Skins 3D and Ezcapes are other names that may appear in searches; MCToolLab does not represent those services, access their accounts or automatically import their libraries. If you already have a PNG you are allowed to use, choose a matching MCToolLab editor and import the file yourself. For an unclear tool name, use the output you need to choose from the directory rather than assuming it is the same product.

Independent project

Not an official Minecraft product. Not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft. Use content you own or have permission to use. ZIP processing uses the locally bundled JSZip library. Audio conversion uses local wasm-media-encoders and Ogg / Vorbis components, loaded only when converting audio.
