Before you create. Imports standard 64 × 64 or legacy 64 × 32 PNG skins. Legacy inputs become Classic 64 × 64 with mirrored left limbs and transparent new outer layers. What you will get

Edit or combine 64 × 64 Minecraft skins by body part and layer, preview Classic or Slim in 3D, and export PNG. Output: 64 × 64 PNG. You can use this tool without connecting a Minecraft or Microsoft account.

Minecraft skin editor with a 3D preview

Edit or combine standard 64 × 64 skins, or normalize legacy 64 × 32 PNGs to Classic 64 × 64 with mirrored left limbs. Import a donor skin, choose a body part and base / outer layers, then replace the region or overlay visible pixels. Undo restores the previous skin. Choose Classic or Slim and inspect the 3D preview.

Arm copies require the same Classic / Slim model on both skins. Head, body and legs can be copied separately. Paint on the 2D texture; direct painting on the 3D preview and HD skin editing are not included. Export the combined PNG or pass it to another skin tool.

Can I use this as a Minecraft skin creator or a 3D skin maker?

Yes. Paint the flat texture and check the 3D preview, or open Combine another skin to import a donor. Select the head, body, arms or legs and base / outer layers, then replace or overlay. Arm copies require matching Classic / Slim models. Undo restores the previous skin. HD input and drawing directly on the 3D model are not included.

Make your own Minecraft skin on the web

Use the skin creator to draw or edit a standard 64 × 64 character texture. Import a skin PNG, choose Classic or Slim, select the base or outer layer and paint on the flat texture. Rotate the 3D preview to check the head, arms, body and legs, then download the PNG. This is a browser skin designer, not a character animation tool or a skin gallery. Switching arm models changes how the existing pixels are interpreted.

Skin combiner, skin merger or skin packer?

Import a second 64 × 64 skin under Combine another skin. Choose head, body, both arms, both legs or an individual limb; choose base, outer or both layers. Replace the selected pixels including transparency, or overlay visible donor pixels. Applying a part is explicit and can be undone. Arm copies require matching Classic / Slim models. Skin Pack Maker instead packages separate skins; Pack Merger combines resource-pack files.

Can I upload a skin directly to my Minecraft account?

MCToolLab imports a local PNG for editing and downloads the result. It is not an account skin uploader and does not sign in to Minecraft or Microsoft for you. Save the 64 × 64 PNG, then use the skin-selection process for your edition and device. The installation guide below describes the Java Launcher flow. A Skin Pack Maker download is a Bedrock collection, not an automatic account upload.

Old Minecraft skins and the before:2012 search filter

A search containing before:2012 asks a search engine for older material; it does not switch this editor into a historical skin format. MCToolLab does not provide a pre-2012 skin archive. Its editor accepts standard 64 × 64 and legacy 64 × 32 PNG skins. Legacy images become Classic 64 × 64 skins with mirrored left limbs and transparent new outer layers. Keep the original image; HD layouts and an archive of historical skins are not provided.

Use your skin PNG

Edit a standard 64 × 64 PNG or normalize a legacy 64 × 32 input to Classic layout, or use Combine another skin to replace / overlay selected parts from a donor. Undo restores the previous drawing. Save the PNG and select the matching Classic / Slim model in your game. Java Launcher uses Skins → New skin. Bedrock collections can use Skin Pack Maker. Model changes do not redraw the UV sheet.

Common problems & next steps

Alex arms have a seam

Use a skin drawn for the three-pixel Slim arm layout and select Alex in both the editor and the game. Switching a four-pixel drawing to Alex does not redraw it.

My jacket disappeared from the preview

Turn on the outer display layer. The display toggle does not delete pixels; export keeps both layers.

An import is rejected

Use a real 64 × 64 PNG under 10 MB. Legacy 64 × 32 skins and HD layouts are not supported by this editor.
